Parents Committee

The Parents Committee, led by Yvette and Jason Adams, was originally set up in 2003 under the guidance of Donna and Jeremy Rothwell as a means of getting families of Centre of Excellence players involved in the club for the benefit of the club’s youngsters, primarily in terms of rallying support from local businesses for sponsorship, and by organising numerous highly successful fund-raising events.

The hard work of the parents involved has secured some valuable donations from lucrative contacts within the local and national industry, helping us to go some way towards meeting the £200,000 annual costs for running the Centre of Excellence. Several thousands of pounds have also been raised thanks to open days at the ground, which were superbly organised by the Parents Committee, as well as ladies’ nights at the club and other one-off fundraisers.

Each age group within the Centre of Excellence has its own representative within the body, and the parents’ group meets with Chris Beech, Ryan Kidd and Ross Johnson on the first Monday of every month to discuss future plans. We haven’t yet finalised meeting dates for the 2006/07 season but we expect to be able to update this information very soon. All meetings take place in the boardroom at Gigg Lane, starting at 6.15pm.
